About the work:
Marine Snow occurs in the ocean when slowly sinking organic matter catches the light and appears to fall like snow. Aside from being a notable visual phenomenon it also serves a vital ecological process, moving energy and nutrients from light rich upper oceanic zones into the darker zones that lie beneath. This idea of zones of activity stratifies much of the material within my work as do the ideas of material momentarily catching light as it falls to rest.
